Muggles and wizards alike are invited to this roving birthday party for the beloved Harry Potter. First stop is Diagon Alley (Bernardsville Library) where wannabe wizards can procure wands, butter beer, and all that is needed to succeed at Hogwarts. Next stop is Platform 9¾ at the Bernardsville train station where we will photograph the Hogwarts-bound party goers. The final party stop is, of course, Hogwarts (Peapack-Gladstone Library) where, after serious course work in wizardry is completed, wizards and muggles will join together to sing Happy Birthday and cut the cake.
The festivities begin at Bernardsville Public Library at 6:00 pm on July 31. Party goers will depart for Platform 9¾ at 6:45 pm and after a brief photo session will continue on to the Peapack-Gladstone Public Library where the magic continues until 8:00 pm. Costumes are encouraged.
This event is free and open to all who believe in magic. Participants have a chance to win tickets to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Live in Concert on October 27th featuring the full-length film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, projected in high-definition on a giant screen, with Oscar-nominated composer Patrick Doyle’s masterful score performed live by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra at NJPAC.
